TALE OF THE TAPE
I’m not feeling to optimistic about this showdown at Strawweight. Hannah Cifers did not look like she belonged in the Octagon her last fight against Angela Hill.
MacKenzie Dern has never done anything to show me that she possesses the power to take even a timid Cifers out. She is a Jiu Jitsu specialist who was born to an American mother and a Brazilian father, who was also a professional grappling athlete.
Prediction
I’m expecting a bit of a boring fight, to be honest. It might be that I just don’t understand this division. We these two women ranked out of the top 20, they will need to impress to move up to the main card or showcase fight on the preliminary card.
From here it looks like the fight will have to be decided by the judges. I look for the nod to go to Dern for being able to control the action with her grappling skills. I’ll be interested to watch to see if she can pull off a submission against a very strong and muscular Cifers.
